I've done better this past week with my eating. While I was on vacation I had a major set back. Basically, I didn't eat right at all. And by set back I mean I ate whatever, whenever and how much ever I wanted. And it took me close to another week to fully recover from my derailment. This week has been extremely successful so far with keeping my calories in check. At lunch, I even stopped before I ate the whole lunch portion of my meal so that I have some for tomorrow. Though, I am seriously thinking Chipotle is in my future. Mainly because I am making a lunch run to pick up The Dark Night Rises tickets for Friday night and I'll need to grab food on the go. (This is why I weight 15 more pounds than I want. I think about what I want for lunch an entire day before I actually eat that meal.)
Nerd talk aside, the great thing about having a smart phone is the internet access. When I am craving food from a certain location for lunch I can quickly look up the nutrition information while I wait for something for work to finish processing. That's how I came across this interesting article. America's Top 10 Healthiest Fast Food Restaurants. A little more research gave me this awesome tool on Chipotle's website. Nutrition Calculator. Basically, tomorrow, I can eat a veggie bowl for about 480 calories. I'll get my protein from the black beans and guacamole plus fiber from those two and brown rice. Last time I got this I added the fajita veggies but I will skip those tomorrow because they had a slight weird flavor mixed with something in my bowl. I'm not quite sure what it didn't jive with but yeah.
Workout wise I got a copy of a High Intensity Cardio workout from a guy I work with. He said it's what the Women's Olympic Soccer team uses to train with. He modified it a big for me and I tried it out today. I left the incline alone since I am obviously way out of shape but even with that, I was only able to the first four levels before having to cool it down and start over. I'm ok with that because I'm nowhere near in good enough shape to run for 20 minutes straight. But I now have a huge goal to reach for. And I can also modify it for more of a sprinter type thing rather than endurance thing if I choose. Endurance would be cool but I'm really shooting for the lower body fat percentage of a sprinter rather than the higher percentage of an endurance runner.
I weighted this afternoon and if my calculations are anywhere remotely to being accurate I think I've lost about 6 pounds overall. I'm feeling thinner which is a bigger plus than the lost pounds. And which of course is really the root of my goal. Yes, I'd love for the scale to read 15 pounds lighter but as long as I can fit into smaller clothes when it's all said and done then I'll be happy.
Oh, on a side note, my husband tested a cookie recipe I want to take to our department outing this week and enter into a dessert contest. I'm having to take this test batch to work and give them away so that I don't eat all of them in one sitting. It's really tough because I love chocolate, especially dark chocolate. And these are loaded with semi sweet chocolate chips and cocoa. If I can resist this temptation from the devil himself then I can accomplish almost anything. Haha!
